Recently, the grand ballet Role Model, a choreographic work by the Youth Ballet of Liaoning Ballet, has been performed in Liaoning Grand Theater. The ballet has been on the stage for the second time since rehearsed again last year.

With inspiring music and brilliant stage backgrounds changing from time to time, the heat waves surged one after another on the stage. Stepping in time with the rhythm and gently swaying their arms, young ballet dancers demonstrated their passion and vitality with their glowing eyes. The show was greeted by a roar of applause as it ended.

Role Model, based on episodes from Lei Feng’s Diary, created five chapters with five key words, including “a beam of light”, “a seed”, “a drop of water”, “a brick”, and “a nail”. It interpreted and disseminated Lei Feng’s spirit with dance through comprehensive utilization of performance skills from classical ballet, neoclassical ballet, and modern dance.

Role Model was performed several times in the following year since its premiere in March 5th, 2022. It is said that 60 teenage performers in the ballet age 15 on average are all students from affiliated school of Liaoning Ballet.
