Mar 06,2023

A red tourism route centered around the Fushun Lei Feng Memorial Hall has been opened, connecting commemorative activities across six Lei Feng Memorial Halls in Liaoning. A signature red tourism route, which includes the Lei Feng Memorial Hall, Fushun War Criminals Management Center, and the Three Stone (Monkey Stone, and Kuangzigou) Northeast United Resistance Army Memorial Site, has been developed in conjunction with eco-tourism in Fushun. 2023 marks the 60th year since revolutionaries of the older generation, including Mao Zedong, wrote inscriptions for comrade Lei Feng. Liaoning has actively launched the Lei Feng-themed Spring Red Tourism activities with the theme of “Carrying Forward the Lei Feng Spirit From Generation to Generation”, highlighting Liaoning as the birthplace of the Lei Feng spirit.
To enrich the red tourism activities, Liaoning has launched a total of 64 red tourism routes this spring, including 10 provincial-level signature red tourism routes and 54 boutique routes.
It is reported that by formulating and implementing the development plan for red tourism, Liaoning is accelerating the construction of a red cultural resource protection and utilization system, including the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics, the creation of demonstration zones for the integration of red tourism and culture, upgrading of red tourism scenic spots, and development of signature red tourism routes. This is to promote the high-quality development of red tourism. As of now, Liaoning has built 34 A-level red tourism scenic spots, including 12 4A-level scenic spots.
During the process of continuously strengthening the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural resources, Liaoning has approved and announced a list of 575 immovable revolutionary cultural relics, a list of 19 museums (memorial halls) on revolutionary themes throughout the province, and a list of 10,818 movable revolutionary cultural relics collected by relevant entities. Additionally, 12 counties and districts in Liaoning have been selected as national revolutionary cultural relic protection areas, and 13 key projects for the protection of revolutionary cultural relics have been completed.
