When it comes to culture, folklore is an indispensable part. Liaohe Folk Museum exhibits unique agricultural tools, wine sets, porcelain-mending craftsmanship of the Liaohe River Basin. However, it is much more than just a simple folk exhibition. The lower floors of the museum are themed on “reading” and “catering”, with bookstores, cafes, and restaurants. It is dedicated to integrating the history and culture of the Liaohe River Basin into contemporary urban life.
The Liaohe Art Museum is the largest art museum in Northeast China, with exhibits covering a wide range of artistic fields, including fine arts, calligraphy, photography, philately, and seal carving. Among them, the most special one is the exhibition of couplets, with creators coming from different parts of the country, each with their own unique artistic styles. The Liaohe Calligraphy Museum adjacent to the art museum also exhibits a variety of distinctive works in the middle hall. There are delicate portrayals and depictions, as well as magnificent freehand brush works. The works of calligraphy and painting both shine with glory in the exhibition.
