In recent days, Marcella Festa, associate professor at the School of Cultural Heritage of Northwest University, visited multiple historical and cultural sites in Liaoning, personally witnessing the achievements in cultural heritage preservation in the province. Festa stated, “I greatly admire the contributions made by the cultural preservation workers and archaeology experts in Liaoning. The accomplishments in cultural heritage preservation in Liaoning are truly astonishing.”

Festa believes that archaeology plays a significant role in exploring the history of human development and deepening mutual understanding among different countries. For example, archaeological work along the Silk Road has demonstrated the close relationship between various regions in Europe and Asia. Festa has already established a Silk Road archaeological research team between China and Italy at Northwest University. “Liaoning is one of the key nodes along the grassland Silk Road. We look forward to collaborating with scholars from Liaoning to conduct research on Silk Road culture and publish academic papers together”, Festa said.
