The Jiumenkou Great Wall (literally, nine-water-gate pass) in Suizhong County in Northeast China’s Liaoning Province, features a cross-river bridge across the Jiujiang River. Spanning nearly 100 meters wide, this unique bridge consists of nine arched water gates formed by eight spindle-shaped stone pillars serving as bridge piers, and two surrounding walls. The Jiumenkou Great Wall showcases a harmonious blend of its grandeur and water, creating the stunning spectacle of “city above water and water flowing within the city”.
