From August 8 to 11, 46 coaches and players from the Russian youth soccer team arrived in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning Province. During these days, they took part in the “Experiencing China – Charming Liaoning” event, visited the scenic spots and historical sites of Shenyang, experienced its sports training facilities, immersing themselves in the Chinese culture, and appreciating the allure of Liaoning.

In the lush Shenshuiwan Park, the Russian youth soccer team played a friendly match with a team of Shenyang locals, drawing a large crowd of spectators. During their visit, the Russian youth team will participate in the “Peace Cup” International Juvenile Football Tournament. They also engaged in training sessions with the youth soccer team from Tacheng, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, practicing their skills together.

The coaches and players of the Russian youth soccer team visited the sports training facilities in Shenyang, experiencing cutting-edge sports training equipment and learning about the current status and achievements of sports development in Liaoning Province. Several enterprises in Shenyang also gifted them with jerseys, shoes, and caps. Players from the Russian and Tacheng youth teams signed their names on soccer balls, symbolizing the friendship between Chinese and Russian youth.

While engaging in sports exchanges, the Russian youth soccer players delved into Shenyang’s history by visiting the Imperial Palace of the Qing Dynasty in Shenyang, Zhongjie Street, and Anshu Street Cultural District, experiencing both ancient and contemporary culture in Shenyang. They explored the ancient architectural complex of the Shenyang Imperial Palace, witnessed lion dances and Tai Chi performances, and captured unforgettable moments of their journey through the city in photographs.

The event aims to foster friendly exchanges between the peoples of China and Russia through cultural and sports activities. The coaches and players of the Russian youth soccer team expressed that through their participation in the “Experiencing China – Charming Liaoning” event, they have felt the charm of the Chinese culture and gained insights into sports development in Liaoning. They are willing to serve as ambassadors for cultural and sports exchanges between China and Russia, carrying forward the friendship between the two nations.

The event was jointly hosted by the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shenyang, and organized by the China-Russia Friendship Association and the Liaoning Northeast Asia Economic and Cultural Promotion Association.
