2024-08-14

During Liqiu, the Beginning of Autumn, Dato Yeoh Soon Hin, Deputy Chairman of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, visited Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning Province, to attend the World Chinese Beauty Industry Conference. This was his first visit to Shenyang. During his stay, he visited famous historical sites and natural scenic areas, such as Hunhe River, and participated in the grand event. The natural scenery, culture, history, and local customs of Liaoning left a deep impression on him.

“I got to know Liaoning during my participation in the Penang International Beauty and Fashion Week in Malaysia. I was especially captivated by Liaoning’s historical and cultural charm.” Yeoh expressed, “Being invited to Shenyang this time, I feel the hospitality of the people in Shenyang and the unique charm of this city. Shenyang retains a rich historical and cultural heritage, while also being full of the vitality of a modern metropolis, which is very appealing.”

In addition to the rich culture and history of Shenyang, Yeoh also praised the local cuisine, particularly Shenyang’s featured cuisine of chicken ribs. “Although there is not much meat on the chicken ribs, the various cooking methods and distinctive flavor create a memorable experience,” Yeoh said with a smile.

Yeoh found attending the World Chinese Beauty Industry Conference in Shenyang to be a valuable experience. “Liaoning has the distinctive advantage of ‘beauty’, with numerous industry staff and talented individuals, and a huge market demand,” Yeoh said. He hopes the conference will expand globally from Shenyang, further increase its influence and attract more beauty professionals from around the world to jointly promote innovation and development in the beauty industry.

When it comes to the prospects of cooperation between China’s Liaoning Province and Malaysia, Yeoh sees opportunities for cooperation in various fields. In the manufacturing industry, Liaoning has a strong industrial base and abundant resources, while Malaysia possesses advanced manufacturing technology and a wide market. Therefore, Yeoh said that both sides can strengthen their partnership in the manufacturing sector. In the service industry, especially in tourism and beauty fields, both parties can share their resources and market advantages to achieve mutual benefits and create win-win outcomes, Yeoh expected.
