The Ninth Eastern Economic Forum was recently held in Vladivostok, Russia. Themed “Far East 2030: Combining Strengths to Create New Potential”, the forum gathered more than 6,000 entrepreneurs, scholars and experts, from 76 countries and regions. The agenda included discussions on international cooperation in the changing world, and issues related to the global economy and financial situation.

Professor Yu Miaojie, president of Liaoning University, was invited to attend the forum. During his stay in Russia, he visited Far Eastern Federal University, and signed a cooperation agreement with the university to launch a joint master’s program in “International Business and Project Management”. The program will be taught in English, and enrolled students will study at both universities, receiving systematic training in transnational culture and international management. Yu said at the signing ceremony that China-Russia economic and trade relations are gaining new strength, especially in Russia’s Far East, where high-level international management talents are increasingly required by enterprises. As the first specialized business university of China and with unique geographical advantages, Liaoning University boasts abundant enterprise resources. Its cooperation with Far Eastern Federal University will provide strong talent support for the economic and trade development of China and Russia, and create opportunities for the two countries to establish closer economic ties on the international stage.
