At the Tangshuai Art Museum in Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, the “Hometown in Northeast China” series is on display. This exhibit highlights the unique beauty of the northern China’s winter phenomenon, rime, which is delicately carved on smooth Xiuyu jade. This series of lifelike jade carvings depicts flowing waves, a half-eaten xuegao (a kind of ice cream), a halved green pepper, and a sternly gazing Chinese dragon, capturing the wonders, artistic conception, folk customs, and landscape of Northeast China in great detail.
