Recently, the China International Friendship Cities Conference 2024 was successfully held. The theme of the conference was “Common Prosperity, Shared Future”. At the Sino-foreign Friendship Cities Award Ceremony, 10 cities including Shenyang of Liaoning Province, were granted the “Outstanding Contribution Award for International Friendship Cities”, in recognition of their outstanding performance in carrying out the international friendship cities work.

At the parallel forum of the conference, representative from Shenyang made key introductions on the topic of “Green Urban Development Benefiting People’s Livelihood and Welfare”, focusing on Shenyang’s vigorous construction of a park city with northern characteristics, the transformation from a model of equipment manufacturing in the era of industrial civilization to a pioneer of green, low-carbon and high-quality development in the era of ecological civilization, and the promotion of industrial transformation and upgrading through green, intelligent and high-end development. The representative proposed that Shenyang will continue to make efforts in strengthening technological innovation, enhancing public participation, deepening exchanges and cooperation in the future. Finally, proposal for mutual green development as well as invitation of experiencing Shenyang’s ice and snow industry were sent to domestic and foreign guests attending the conference.

The conference was attended by more than 700 guests, including 37 provincial and ministerial leaders, 74 mayors, deputy secretaries and deputy mayors from 66 provinces and states, 125 cities, 63 representatives of local government organizations and friendly organizations from 41 countries of five continents, as well as experts, scholars, enterprise and media representatives.
