The Liaoning Provincial Museum welcomed a significant number of visitors during the Spring Festival this year, ranking among the top nationwide. According to the statistics, the museum received a total of more than 116,000 visitors till February 4, an increase of 19.33% over the same period last year, marking a new historical high.
Among the total of 116,000 visitors, the proportion of out-of-province visitors exceeded that of visitors within the province, reaching 52.5%. The sources of out-of-province visitors also underwent changes during the Spring Festival. During the 2024 National Day holiday, the top five sources of out-of-province visitors were: Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Province, Hebei Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Shandong Province. However, during this year’s Spring Festival holiday, the top five sources changed to: Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Province, Hebei Province, Jiangsu Province, and Zhejiang Province.
On February 3, the Liaoning Provincial Museum received a total of 23,997 visitors, representing a 43.8% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Notably, this figure not only sets a new record for the highest single-day number of visitors during the Spring Festival this year, but also surpasses the previous single-day record at the museum.

Currently, the Liaoning Provincial Museum is hosting eight unique and brilliant large-scale exhibitions, including The Auspicious Snake Bestows Blessings: Zodiac Cultural Exhibition for the Year of the Snake 2025, Splendid Mountains and Rivers – Liao and Jin Dynasties Cultural Relics Themed Exhibition, Graceful Portrayals: Ancient Chinese Figure Paintings Collected by the Liaoning Provincial Museum, and Hometown in My Dreams: Exhibition of Works Donated by Painter Hou Beiren. The museum boasts not only a great variety of cultural relics and art exhibitions, but also a wide array of cultural activities, such as the traditional cultural fair with a strong Chinese New Year flavor, the diverse and fascinating cultural experience activities, and the remarkable collection of cultural creative products, captivating visitors from across the country with its vibrant festive cultural atmosphere.

In order to accommodate requirements of visitors during the festival, the Liaoning Provincial Museum will extend its closing time to 8:00 pm (Beijing Time) on the Lantern Festival (February 12, 2025).
