The public welfare appraisal and consulting service for private collections of cultural relics, currently being held by the Liaoning Provincial Museum, has been well-received by all sectors of society. Previous special appraisal sessions for porcelain and jade wares provided free appraisal and consulting service to 31 collectors, appraising over 150 collections, including 17 pieces identified as cultural relics from the Song Dynasty (960-1279) to the Republic of China period (1912-1949).

Four cultural and museum experts from the Liaoning Provincial Museum have fulfilled their mission of cultural communication with profound academic attainments, offering multi-dimensional professional guidance to collecting enthusiasts who came with admiration. The experts have interpreted the historical narratives and artistic values embodied in the cultural relics in a simple and accessible way, integrating publicity on cultural relics protection regulations to guide collectors in establishing a legal, compliant, rational, and pragmatic collecting concept. This interactive model of integrating education into appraisal enables participants to gradually master the collection approach of “distinguishing authenticity and clarifying origins”, truly bringing cultural relics to life and passing on the culture.
A special appraisal session for metal wares is scheduled for June 12. Collectors can log in to the official website of the Liaoning Provincial Museum (https://www.lnmuseum.com.cn) and make an appointment in the “Appraisal for Private Collections of Cultural Relics” column.
