Fourteen teenage students from Germany have just concluded their trip to Shenyang, Liaoning Province. They participated in the “Perceive China · Shenyang Tour” German Youth Summer Camp organized by the International Education College of Shenyang Normal University. Among them, ten German teenagers were visiting China for the first time. They studied Chinese, explored Chinese culture, experienced daily life in Shenyang, and had a fruitful experience accompanied by student volunteers majoring in German from Shenyang Normal University.

During the summer camp, the International Education College of Shenyang Normal University tailored rich cultural experience courses for the German students, allowing them to feel the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture up close. The courses covered Chinese language, paper-cutting, Chinese tea culture, calligraphy, traditional Chinese medicine, seal carving and traditional Chinese painting. Through hands-on practice and interactive learning, the students explored the diverse Chinese culture. In addition, the German teenagers visited historical and cultural sites such as the Shenyang Imperial Palace, and also went to the 1905 Cultural and Creative Park, Shenyang’s Zhongjie Street and Laobeishi to experience the diverse cultural charm of Shenyang.

The German teenagers earnestly felt the profound heritage of Chinese culture and created many unforgettable moments. This summer camp has built a bridge for German teenagers to gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture, while also enhancing the friendship and cultural exchanges between Chinese and German youth.
