As rivers thaw and warmth returns, migratory birds are heading north. In early March, the first flock of herons arrived in Bailu Village, Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Dandong City, Liaoning Province. Their arrival has breathed new life into this famous sanctuary, marking the true start of spring in the city. With more herons expected to arrive over the coming weeks, Bailu Village is once again transforming into a breathtaking “heron paradise”.
