Shenyang is a national historical and cultural city, and the Shenyang Imperial Palace, Shenyang Qing Fuling Mausoleum, Shenyang Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum and Fushun Qing Yongling Mausoleum, are known as the “One Palace and Three Imperial Mausoleums”, all included in the World Heritage List. Shenyang Imperial Palace is one of the two most complete ancient palace complexes remaining in China. The entire palace is grand and magnificent, showing the grandeur of the imperial family. Qing Yongling Mausoleum is the ancestral tomb of the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, bearing architectural characteristics and artistic features of the Manchu people in its architectural form, layout, design, and craft. Qing Fuling Mausoleum is the tomb of Qing Emperor Nurhachi, which consists of three parts, namely the front courtyard, the Fangcheng Square and the Baocheng Square, standing taller than one another from south to north. Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum, the tomb of Emperor Huangtaiji of the Qing Dynasty, is located in the north of Shenyang, therefore also known as the “North Tomb”. It is the most representative emperor’s mausoleum of the early Qing Dynasty in Northeast China.
