In the wetland of Xiaoling River in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, thousands of shorebirds sometimes fly between the blue sea and azure sky, sometimes forage freely on the mudflats and lie lazily in the sun. The fall migration has quietly kicked off, and shorebirds have entered their migration peak season. First-class and second-class national protected animals, such as Saunders’s gulls, eastern curlews and great knots (calidris tenuirostris), are making their appearances.
