In early autumn, in the reeds of the Damaike Wetland in Tai’an County, several cute baby birds are fluttering their wings to ask their mothers for food. Known as the “giant panda of birds”, reed parrotbill is a rare bird species that can only be found in China. It has lived on the earth for 450 million years, and is considered as the “living fossil” of birds. Reed parrotbill looks like a “small parrot”, cute and lovely, with pleasant chirps. When it is happy, it will spread its wings and sing merrily.
