The fourth Liaoning Tour for Foreign Students with the Theme of “Experiencing China·Charming Liaoning” was held in Shenyang on April 15 and 16. A delegation of 16 teachers and students from Votkinski litsei Votkinsk Secondary School of the Udmurt Republic in Russia visited three universities in Liaoning, China, namely China Medical University, Shenyang Normal University, and Shenyang Ligong University.

Providing a platform for foreign students to gain a deeper understanding of Liaoning, “Experiencing China·Charming Liaoning” has become a representative event of China’s international exchange activities, jointly organized by the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Educational Department of Liaoning Province, with the Liaoning Provincial China-Russia Friendship Association serving as the organizer. On April 16, 16 Russian teachers and students visited China Medical University, where Xu Yinghui, the president, introduced the current teaching and learning situations and academic achievements of the university. Meanwhile, in-depth discussions on studying abroad were conducted. During their two-day visits, the Russian teachers and students visited various places such as the Life Science Museum of China Medical University, the Paleontological Museum of Shenyang Normal University and the library of Shenyang Ligong University, and also engaged in social activities with students from the above-mentioned three universities, learning Russian ballet and Chinese fan dance from each other, and playing friendly badminton matches.

Ezhova Svetlana from Votkinski litsei Votkinsk Secondary School stated that after paying visits to these three universities, they learn that Liaoning has highly-developed higher education systems, and are looking forward to cooperating with the universities further. The students from the school also expressed their satisfaction with the learning and living atmospheres of these universities and sincere wishes to pursue further study in Liaoning through hard-working.

Liaoning Province has attached great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Russia at the local level, making its friendship with Russia become a common consensus among Liaoning people. In turn, the number of Russian people choosing Liaoning as their preferred destination for study, investment, and entrepreneurship has been increasingly on the rise.
