On a summer night in Shenyang, a gentle breeze blows. The “Woodwind Quintet Concert” featuring a collection of foreign classical music was recently performed at Shengjing Grand Theater. Faculty and students from the Orchestral Instruments Department of Shenyang Conservatory of Music presented a splendid musical feast for Shenyang citizens.

The flute, oboe, French horn, bassoon, and clarinet exhibit their unique tones in foreign classical masterpieces like Beethoven’s “Pathétique Sonata” and Shostakovich’s “The Second Waltz”. The conductor of this concert is Cao Jiangshan, a young teacher from Shenyang Conservatory of Music, who serves as the president of the Asian Marching Band Confederation and the executive director of the Drum Corps Asia.
