Tonghang Hutong was once a hutong where a copperware sales industry gathered. It is said that in the early Qing Dynasty, Huang Taiji, the emperor, ordered that copperware workshops be set up in the center of Shengjing (now Shenyang in Liaoning Province), which implied the meaning of “copper heart” and “iron courage” in the urban layout. Now, Tonghang Hutong has now become a folk street.
