Dr Louis Ng, Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, recently visited the Liaoning Provincial Museum for exchanges. Wang Xiaowen, Director of the Liaoning Provincial Museum, and Dr Louis Ng jointly signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on exhibition exchanges, cultural relics protection, academic research, and personnel exchanges between the two museums.
Currently, the two museums are planning an exhibition of ancient Chinese calligraphy and painting works. The Hong Kong Palace Museum will invite experts from the Liaoning Provincial Museum to participate in academic activities in Hong Kong. Both museums will co-host a large-scale cultural relics exhibition in 2027 to mark the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland.
Based on this Memorandum of Cooperation, the Liaoning Provincial Museum will deepen cooperation with the Hong Kong Palace Museum, and strengthen regular communication, to jointly open a new chapter in friendly exchanges between the two museums.
