The 2026 ASEAN-China Media Cooperation Forum kicked off in Shenyang, Liaoning Province on June 9. 62 media professionals from ASEAN countries and their Chinese counterparts exchanged insights on media trends amid digital transformation, exploring ways to boost solidarity, co-create quality content and jointly build communication platforms.
The main theme of this forum is Media Convergence for Shared Growth: Opening a New Chapter in ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The forum has two roundtable dialogues: Social Responsibility and the Media’s Mission in Our Times and Innovative Practices and Diverse Development in the Digital Age.
Napasorn Bhuvaborirak, Director of the Information and Public Relations Division of the ASEAN-China Centre, noted the forum offered her a firsthand look at Liaoning’s economic and cultural development. She stated the centre would deepen practical cooperation with Liaoning Province.
Buji Babiera, a KOL of culture and tourism field from the Philippines, visited Liaoning for the first time and expressed his deep fascination with Liaoning’s traditional culture. Yu Qiquan, an representative inheritor of Shenyang’s intangible cultural heritage dough figurine, crafted a lifelike dough portrait of Babiera in just five minutes, leaving the Filipino guest utterly amazed. Babiera said he plans to share his Liaoning experiences via the social media channels.
