After watching the film Dear You, Liu Bao Oscar, a Chinese-Hungarian mixed-race young man raised in Hungary, gained a deeper understanding of his overseas Chinese father’s profound affection for the motherland, China.
Liu Bao’s father left Northeast China’s Liaoning Province for Hungary more than three decades ago to practice traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and promote TCM culture overseas. Though living thousands of miles away from his hometown, he always keeps his homeland close to his heart.
Deeply influenced by his father, Liu Bao returned to China to pursue his studies at Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He plans to go back to Hungary after graduation to promote TCM culture among more people overseas. “I will follow in my father’s footsteps and carry forward this love and cultural legacy that transcend mountains and seas,” he said.
