African international students from Liaoning University of Technology sing the beloved Chinese classic Tomorrow Will Be Better, creating a musical relay that transcends time and space. The same choir staged We Are the World last year. This represents a narrative shift, from “the world’s wishes for Africa” to “African youths’ wishes for the world”. The international students infuse the kindness they have gained in China and their aspirations to build their hometowns into the song.
