The “2025 TEA Global Experience Index” was recently released, featuring a list of the world’s top 20 museums based on visitor traffic and industry development trends. The Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum secured the 19th position on this list.

The scope of this year’s ranking was expanded to include historical palaces and major historical sites that maintain formal collections and curatorial systems. Established on the basis of the Shenyang Imperial Palace, the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum has become a popular destination for both domestic and international visitors, drawing on its rich historical and cultural heritage and its well-preserved ancient architectural complex.

According to the 2025 TEA Global Experience Index, the top 20 museums worldwide recorded a combined total of 161.4 million visits. In 2025, the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum reached a new all-time high in attendance, welcoming around 5.85 million visits—a year-on-year increase of 12.04%. More recent data indicates that between January 1 and November 1, 2026, the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum hosted over 6 million visits, setting yet another record.
