Dalian Targets Southeast Asian Mid-Range Tourist Market as Tourism Heats Up
Feb 27,2023

During the Spring Festival, the number of domestic inbound and outbound passengers in Dalian surged by 62% year on year back to 86% of the level in 2019. After the end of the Spring Festival, the passenger volume of civil aviation passenger traffic has continued to grow steadily. With outbound group travel and the “airline ticket + hotel booking” business being resumed, major travel agencies in Dalian have received an increasing number of outbound travel consultations, and the public has become more enthusiastic about applying for passports.

It is understood that given the steady growth in passenger flow of civil aviation, China Southern Airlines will maintain its stable capacity input, with a plan to roll out 38 regular flights in Dalian with 39 aviation points. In terms of domestic routes, seven to eight flights per day are scheduled for Dalian-Beijing and Dalian-Guangzhou passengers, four to six flights per day for Dalian-Shanghai and Dalian-Shenzhen passengers, and three flights per day for Dalian-Sanya passengers. In terms of international and regional routes, two flights per week are set for Dalian-Seoul passengers, one per week for Dalian-Tokyo passengers, and one per week for Dalian-Hong Kong passengers, so as to better meet the traveling needs of Dalian passengers.

In 2023, Dalian outbound and inbound tourism will target the Southeast Asian mid-range tourist market as it organizes tours for tourists near and far. Ocean International Travel Service Corporation will launch charter flights between Dalian and Thailand on March 28th. Ruide International Travel Agency will provide charter flights to and from Cambodia and Indonesia. Weilv International Travel Agency will offer charter flights to and from Malaysia. And Wenyuan International Travel Agency will make available charter flights to and from Vladivostok (Haishenwai).

At the same time, Dalian will focus on inviting travel agents from Southeast Asian countries, such as Thailand and Indonesia, as the key overseas teams for this year’s Dalian Huaihua Festival (festival of Chinese scholar tree blossom), planning to invite them to Dalian for offline activities, such as visiting and exchanging tourists, cultural exchanges, product promotion, and launch of liners and special trains. Additionally, traditional overseas tourist markets, such as Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States will be launched at an appropriate time.
