Assisting Hainan to achieve a significant breakthrough in the ethylene industry!
The first domestically developed 9MW centrifugal compressor set for offshore platform was put into operation successfully at the first trial!
Recently, the Shenyang Blower Works Group Corporation (SBW) has been achieving one milestone after another, showcasing its prowess and bolstering Liaoning’s endeavors to strengthen its manufacturing industry’s core competitiveness, thereby contributing to China’s advancement in manufacturing.
On February 16th, Sinopec Hainan Refining & Chemical Company successfully launched the ethylene steam cracking unit, which is the leading unit of the ethylene project with one million tons of ethylene output per year. On February 21st, all links of the ethylene project were connected, and all units were launched successfully at the first trial.
The ethylene project of Sinopec Hainan Refining & Chemical Company, which produces one million tons of ethylene per year, utilizes the advanced chemical engineering technology in the world and features 10 sets of chemical engineering units including the ethylene steam cracking unit and units for subsequent processes, with an investment of 28.6 billion yuan. The core moving equipment of the project includes 10 sets of centrifugal compressor sets, 3 sets of reciprocating compressors and 8 sets of ventilators, all exclusively designed, developed, and manufactured by SBW. They boast world-leading operation efficiency, technical parameters, and stability. Thanks to the successful operation of the project, Hainan Province has achieved a significant breakthrough in its ethylene industry, which has become a new engine for the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
Recently, the first set of centrifugal compressors for offshore platform undertaken by SBW was successfully put into operation. The compressor set’s performance data was impressive, receiving acclaim from both the commissioning and manufacturing parties, and showcasing SBW’s expertise. The successful launch of the set at the first trial is a milestone in the use of domestically developed large compressors for offshore oil and gas production and in China’s independence from importing large compressors for offshore gas production.
