Recently, in Tieling Lotus Wetland Park, Liaoning Province, staffs have captured the picture of a pair of oriental white storks building nests and laying eggs after a few hours of waiting and observation. The oriental white stork is one of the first-class national protected animals, enjoying the reputation of “Panda in Birds” due to its rarity, with only around 3000 wild birds around the world. Lotus Wetland, located along the Northeast-Asia-Australia migratory route for birds, now enjoys abundant bird resources including 16 orders, 48 families, and 123 species due to its improving natural ecological environment and various measures for protecting birds.
