Recently the 3rd “Chinese and Russian Youth Walking on Friendship Road” Activity was held in Shenyang. The youth delegates from Russia and China, 45 people in total, were invited to Shenyang. They visited Shenyang Soviet Martyr Cemetery, Shenyang Aircraft Corporation Museum, China Industrial Museum, and Shenyang Imperial Palace, to gain an understanding of the city’s history and culture, and review the traditional friendship between the two countries.

On the morning of August 23, Russian and Chinese youth delegates visited China Industrial Museum and Shenyang Imperial Palace. At the museum, the Russian youth perceived Shenyang’s long-standing industrial culture when seeing the dusty workshops and worn-out machine tools. The magnificent buildings with colorful walls and delicate carvings in Shenyang Imperial Palace have left them with a deep impression. Girls from Russia took pictures of cultural and creative ice-cream to record their beautiful memory here. Nikita Mikhaylov, a Russian student, said that although he had visited the Forbidden City in Beijing before, Shenyang Imperial Palace enjoyed its own unique charm with well-preserved buildings and cultural relics.

The Russian and Chinese youth delegates brought extraordinary performances to the social party of the 3rd “Chinese and Russian Youth Walking on Friendship Road” Activity held at Liaoning Grand Theater in the afternoon. Youth delegates from The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries sang Chinese and Russian songs, winning applause from the Russian youth. Davletshina Kristina, a Russian student, performed the modern dance Phoenix, drawing cheers from Chinese audience with her beautiful postures. “I want to extend my greatest wishes to the friendship between China and Russia with this dance. Art knows no borders. It can allow us to understand each other better,” she said. At last, the song Auld Lang Syne in chorus pushed the party to climax, marking a closer friendship between these youths and a better shared future.

This trip in Shenyang has left Russian youth with deep impression, especially those visiting here for the second time. Liaoning is a beautiful place with charming scenery and flourishing cities. Liaoning people are hospitable, kind, diligent, and optimistic. This event has built bridges for Russian and Chinese youth to deepen mutual understanding, friendship, and trust. They are together writing a new chapter of the ever-lasting friendship between the two countries in Shenyang.
