On May 24, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference, presenting the province’s endeavors this year to improve urban appearance and continue to enhance urban environment construction.

Through continuous and unwavering efforts, cities across Liaoning have achieved substantial improvements, effectively promoting the enhancement of urban environment and cityscape, further elevating the quality of residential living conditions.

This year, Shenyang has promoted the renovation of 15 streets and roads, and conducted minor upgrading of 100 back alleys. It has also advanced the construction of parks with local characteristics, completing a total of 3,070 pocket parks. The city has strived to solve the imbalance between the large number of vehicles and insufficient parking spaces, with more than 7,000 parking spaces added up until now in 2024. Moreover, with an emphasis on public experience, a batch of youth-friendly blocks such as Qingnian Avenue, Hengda Road, and Wenyi Road, which integrate scenery, culture and fashion, have been built, making “city walk” a new trend.

Dalian has taken major events as opportunities, such as the ISF Football World Cup, the Liaoning Culture, Sports and Tourism High Quality International Conference, the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, the Dalian International Walking Festival, and the Dalian Acacia Flower Festival, to conduct campaigns maintaining infrastructure and improving the environment. Immersive urban lighting landscapes such as Russian-Style Street and Fisherman’s Wharf. The city has also developed urban scenic spots represented by Gangdong Fifth Street, Dongguan Street, Seaside Boardwalk of Binhai Road, Dalian Maritime Tour, and Rainbow Road in Xinghai Square. By taking a targeted approach and seizing opportunities, Dalian City is vigorously accelerating the improvement of urban functionality, aiming to have a ripple effect and drive overall progress.

Next, with a focus on addressing issues arising in different seasons, Liaoning will make efforts to clean up fallen flowers and flying catkins, road surface water accumulation, and dead branches and fallen leaves. It will clean up hard-to-reach hygiene areas and remove plastic waste. Moreover, efforts will persist in tackling problems including damaged urban roads, hard-to-reach hygiene areas, and architectural facade beautification.
