Xingcheng is a coastal county-level city nestled in Huludao City, Liaoning Province, with a population of less than 500,000. Few people may know that one out of every four swimsuits produced globally comes from here. Xingcheng, a city dedicated to  making swimsuits for people all over the world, is thus known as “Swimwear Capital” that creates a ten-billion-yuan industry with cloth.

Strolling through the streets of Xingcheng today, one can see transport vehicles from international express companies, such as FedEx and UPS, everywhere. The swimsuits are well produced in Xingcheng, and sold to the whole country, and even to countries such as the US, Thailand and Australia. Presently, about one-third of the population in Xingcheng is engaged in swimwear-related work. Around 1,300 swimwear production enterprises settle here, producing an annual average of about 170 million pieces (sets) of swimsuits. This accounts for over 40% of the domestic market share and more than 25% of the international market share, with an annual output value of 15 billion yuan.
