On March 28, the Information Office of the Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference, announcing the guiding principles for hosting the 15th National Winter Games of the People’s Republic of China, as well as details on soliciting the event’s official slogan, emblem, and mascot.

The 15th National Winter Games, set to take place in 2028, will be hosted by Liaoning. In March 2025, committed to organizing a streamlined, safe, and splendid games, Liaoning established the guiding principles of “Green, Shared, Vibrant, and Integrated” for the event.

To ensure a successful event, Liaoning has launched a public call for submissions of the official slogan, emblem, and mascot designs. The slogan should embody the vibe of the times, reflect both the Olympic values and China’s sportsmanship, and highlight Liaoning’s rich cultural heritage and regional characteristics. The emblem should be symbolically meaningful, easy to understand, memorable, and widely promotable. The mascot should be a lively and endearing cartoon figure that captures the essence of the 15th National Winter Games while demonstrating winter sports, the province’s charms, and cultural depth.

The submission period runs from April 1 to June 30, 2025, with the final selection results set to be announced by September 30.

The slogan, emblem, and mascot of the 15th National Winter Games will serve as vital cultural ambassadors for Liaoning, which will present to the world a “New Liaoning” with distinctive charms of ice and snow and local culture and will turn every vibrant movement on ice and snow into a vivid story of the province.
