On October 28, the project-based learning activity “I’m a Little Museum Researcher” submitted by the Liaoning Provincial Museum was selected as an outstanding case of the Fourth National Cultural and Museum Social Education Case Publicity and Display Activity.

The Fourth National Cultural and Museum Social Education Case Publicity and Display Activity was held in Anyang, Henan Province on October 28. Over 200 people from cultural and museum institutions, research institutes, universities, and cultural and museum enterprises across China attended the event. Experts from the Liaoning Provincial Museum gave speeches on the project theme, its distinctive positioning and innovative highlights, and the social impact, fully demonstrating the museum’s innovative achievements in the planning and implementation of educational activities, and in-depth development of museum-school cooperative education practices.
The museum’s “I’m a Little Museum Researcher” activity uses project-based learning as a carrier, aiming to support regional educational innovation. In collaboration with the Shenyang Municipal Education Bureau and Shenyang Municipal Institute of Educational Research, the project-based learning activity centers on the “Splendid Mountains and Rivers—Liao and Jin Dynasties Cultural Relics Themed Exhibition”, transforming the museum into a “second classroom”. A total of 42 primary and secondary schools in Shenyang participated in this activity. It has also actively promoted collaborative curriculum development among teachers from multiple disciplines, eliminated traditional classroom boundaries, and built a new ecosystem of collaborative education involving families, schools, and society.

The Liaoning Provincial Museum will continue to deepen its cooperation with schools, using project-based learning as a link to help cultivate the cultural literacy and innovative abilities of young people.
