On a midsummer evening, a concert blending traditional Chinese opera with symphonic music took stage at Liaoning Grand Theatre. Titled Opera · Fashion, the concert was led by Liaoning Opera House (Liaoning Symphony Orchestra), and jointly presented by Jiangsu Kunqu Opera Theatre, Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra, Shenyang Peking Opera Theatre, and Jinzhou Pingju Opera Theatre.

The concert kicked off with a powerful symphony Mu Guiying Takes Command. The majestic orchestral performance balanced strength and elegance, drawing the audience into the world of this classic Peking Opera masterpiece. The delicate water mill tunes of Kunqu Opera’s The Peony Pavilion blended seamlessly with the plaintive, touching symphony.

The evening reached its climax when Ding Xiaojun, a renowned Mei School Peking Opera artist from Liaoning Province, delivered her operatic rendition of I Love You, China. More than 1,000 audience members enjoyed this cross-regional symphony feast of traditional Chinese opera.
