The Liaoning Provincial Museum, in collaboration with China Cultural Industry Development Group Co., Ltd., has launched the “A Journey Through Prosperous Gusu” LBE large-space VR experience, integrating the forms of film, games, and drama. This experience is also featured as a core interactive element of the special exhibition The Prosperity of Gusu, jointly organized by the Liaoning Provincial Museum and the Suzhou Museum. Through this grand cultural event, technology serves as a bridge, allowing the ancient painting scroll to transform into an immersive enchanting world.
“A Journey Through Prosperous Gusu” presents a dreamlike world based on the masterpiece painting The Prosperity of Gusu, which unfolds the elegance of gardens, vitality of the canal, ingenuity of embroidery, and charm of folk customs. The scenes that were once out of reach have now turned into the stories of the ancient city that can be appreciated, explored, and reminisced about.
The entire journey of the experience revolves around the “Spiritual Ink” scattered throughout the bustling ancient city, with the core objective of piecing together the memories of Gusu. The wondrous adventure begins when the “Spiritual Ink” enters a dream. The game character will wield the “Ink Guide” compass, transforming into an ink seeker, and then travel with companions to collect fragments of memories and solve intriguing puzzles, approaching the past of this ancient city step by step through exploration.
Nearly three hundred years have passed since Xu Yang painted this masterpiece, which captured the most captivating aspects of Gusu. The bustling life of the ancient city unfolds gently within the painting, while the unique elegance of Jiangnan is contained in every stroke. In the past, we could only admire this timeless scroll from afar, marveling at the Gusu scenes depicted. Now, however, time and space are no longer separate; let us step forward with the ink, and embrace the old dreams of Jiangnan.
