Dressed in blue-and-white costumes embroidered with traditional motifs, the female dancers appear to transform into exquisite Yuan-dynasty blue-and-white porcelain as they spin gracefully across the stage. The choreography draws inspiration from the national-treasure-level Blue-and-White Porcelain Octagonal Jar with Pine, Bamboo and Plum Designs, part of the Liaoning Provincial Museum’s collection. The jar is a rare and exquisite masterpiece of Yuan-dynasty blue-and-white porcelain.
