After the full-scale War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, the school was renamed the Health School of the Eighth Route Army and moved to the front. Following the Battle of Pingxingguan, the number of wounded soldiers surged, and the school became a battlefield medical unit. The school’s President Wang Bin established a thousand-li evacuation route for the wounded. Teachers and students served simultaneously as medical workers, stretcher-bearers, and publicists; some even shielded the wounded with their own bodies. In 1938, the school moved to Zhangcunyi, where it organized public health campaigns, helped build a model health district in northern Shaanxi, and enrolled large numbers of progressive young people, laying a solid foundation for its future development.
