The “2023 ‘Gathering Strength in Shenyang, Designing the Future’ 4+N Action Plan” has recently been launched in Heping District, Shenyang, Liaoning Province. This action plan is a significant step towards transforming Shenyang into a national center city and a cultural powerhouse, as well as creating it as a regional hub for cultural and creative activities and the “Design City of Northeast China”. It includes four main activities: a press conference, a design competition, a design exhibition, and a design forum, along with creative activities like the Shenyang Cheongsam Culture Festival and the Northeast Asia Cultural Tourism Creative Expo.
Heping District has gathered more than one-third of Shenyang’s existing design resources, with more than 3,000 culture-related enterprises, including 113 large-scale enterprises. There are cultural and creative institutions, such as Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Northeastern University, Shenyang Conservatory of Music and many research institutes and design entities. Heping District is fully committed to building Shenyang into the Northeast “Design City” and accelerating the construction of a core leading area for regional cultural and creative centers. The goal is to empower industries, serve the city, build brands, promote development, and enhance life in Shenyang.
Furthermore, China Northeast Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. has formed the Shenyang Design Industry Alliance with industry leaders such as LuXun Academy of Fine Arts, Liaoning Publishing Group, and Shenyang Institute for Innovative Design Co., Ltd.C, as well as representatives from cultural and creative parks and universities. The relevant person in charge from China Northeast Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. stated that they will integrate national architectural masters and excellent designer teams, drive design industry upgrading with creativity and innovation, and integrate original design into the entire value chain of consulting, planning, investment, design, construction, operation and maintenance to create an original design value ecosystem.
