This year, Shenyang has continuously improved its capability in static traffic management by optimizing the parking supply structure, expanding parking spaces, advancing intelligent control and strengthening information guidance.
Located in the North Station area of Shenhe District, Shenyang Finance, Commerce and Trade Development Zone is densely populated with high-rise office buildings such as financial headquarters, and has a high volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic, leading to a strain on parking spaces. However, people who work here no longer need to arrive early to compete for parking spots recently, as automatic parking is available after pulling in, which relieves the hassle of reversing into tight spaces.

This smart parking garage is the first super high-rise parking tower recently opened in Northeast China, also known as the Yingbin Street East Super High-rise Parking Tower Project. Seen from the outside, the parking tower is no different from the surrounding high-rise glass curtain wall buildings, while inside are four individual garages with 33 layers of 248 three-dimensional parking spaces on a 1,000-square-metre site, so as to maximize the efficiency of the plot with less land occupation, more parking spots, as well as smarter designs and lower costs.

Liu Mingchi, manager of the parking tower, explains: “The car only needs to be parked in the vehicle loading plate on the ground floor, and then will be automatically sent to the three-dimensional parking space by lift-sliding, vertical-circulating and plane-moving mechanical parking system through the 24-hour fully intelligent and unmanned operation. This parking tower is also equipped with an infrared recognition system to automatically determine the safety situation inside the car.”
This year, Shenyang has strengthened the construction of parking information technology and the application of “Easy Parking”. Up to now, this “Easy Parking” platform has accessed 657 operational parking lots with 141,000 parking spaces, accounting for 59% of the total parking spaces, significantly improving the access rate and data governance capability of the platform. At the same time, it has intensified the data opening and sharing, realizing the real-time data opening and sharing of 590 public parking lots, so that citizens can find the location of parking lots and the real-time number of remaining parking spaces through various mobile clients, enjoy the services of navigation and reservation, and thus enhance the convenience and comfort for themselves.
