A total of 33,000 participants from 55 countries and regions, including 430 foreign runners and over 19,000 from other cities of China, competed in the 35th Dalian Marathon in Dalian, Liaoning Province on May 11.

The Dalian Marathon was designated as a World Athletics Elite Label event by the World Athletics and an A1 event by the Chinese Athletic Association. Established in 1987, the Dalian Marathon is one of the longest-standing marathon events in China. This year’s competition featured full marathon, half marathon, and fun run categories.

According to the organizing committee, with over 100,000 participants registering for the race, this year’s event set a new record for participation.
