On June 26, the exhibition “Legends of Dragon: The Ancient Civilization of Hongshan Culture” is officially open to the public at the Shanghai Museum.
This special exhibition is a cultural event jointly launched by the Shanghai Museum and 20 other cultural and museum institutions from various regions of China, including Liaoning Province, Hebei Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Beijing, and Tianjin. It is also the largest and most comprehensive Hongshan culture themed exhibition to date.
The exhibition showcases 310 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics, including 68 pieces (sets) of national first-class cultural relics and 39 pieces (sets) of national second-class cultural relics. More than a quarter of the exhibits are on display for the first time. It covers the latest archaeological findings across China in recent years, including new discoveries at the Ma’anqiaoshan Site of Jianping County, Liaoning Province.
