On March 14, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held the third press conference of the series titled “Making Decisive Efforts to Develop the Economy by Focusing on Eight Critical Tasks”, presenting the province’s major plans, tasks, and specific measures aimed at accelerating the transformation of growth drivers and constructing a modern industrial system in Liaoning this year.
Liaoning’s service industry has experienced a robust recovery, achieving an added value of 158 million yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 5.5%. In 2024, the province will support consumer service companies in upgrading their brands based on the distinctive characteristics of Liaoning, such as souvenirs, cuisine, accommodation, and festivals of the province. Additionally, efforts will be made to promote the development of the silver economy, support the transformation of elderly care institutions into large-scale, branding, and chain operations, promote products for senior citizens, and establish a batch of distinctive ecological health resorts. Seizing the opportunity of hosting the 15th National Winter Games, Liaoning aims to enrich the offerings of popular ice and snow hot spring experiences and products.
In 2024, Liaoning will advance the high-level opening-up of the service industry through internationalization. The province will expedite the construction of the Northeast Sea-Land Corridor, promoting both the quantity and quality of China Railway Express freight train services. It will also explore new paths for opening up the service industry, actively promote the development of overseas warehouses, deepen innovation in cross-border e-commerce, and vigorously develop new forms of international trade such as cross-border e-commerce livestreaming, short video marketing, and independent online platforms.
The revitalization of Liaoning begins with the revitalization of the industrial sector. In 2024, the province will solidly promote new industrialization, focus on the transformation and upgrading of industries, strengthen digital empowerment, and cultivate digital workshops and smart factories. Furthermore, Liaoning will also carry out targeted actions to promote the digital empowerment of small and medium-sized enterprises, accelerate the development of service-oriented manufacturing, and make efforts to host the 2024 Global Industrial Internet Conference.
