It is said that during the Guangxu Period (1875-1908) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911),a man named Liu Yupeng came to Xita to flee from famine. He became the first household to settle there. On the west is the Xita Pagoda (West Pagoda) and the Yanshou Temple, people at that time used to call the area “Xita Hutong”. With a history of 120 years, the Xita Street has gradually become a street with strong Korean ethnic characteristics.
