Liaoning Saw a Year-On-Year Increase of 4.9% in Regional GDP in First Three Quarters of 2024

On October 20, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held the first press conference of the series on the economic performance of Liaoning in the first three quarters of 2024, releasing and interpreting the latest economic data during this period.

According to the statistics of the unified calculation of regional gross domestic product (GDP), in the first three quarters this year, the regional GDP of Liaoning reached 2.25499 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9% at constant prices. By industry, the added value of the primary industry was 154.51 billion yuan, up 4.8% year-on-year, the added value of the secondary industry was 887.64 billion yuan, up by 5.1%, and that of the tertiary industry was 1212.84 billion yuan, up by 4.7%.

In the first three quarters of this year, the total added value of industries above designated size grew by 3.4% year-on-year, which was 0.1 percentage point faster than that of the first half of this year. Of this total, the added value of high-tech manufacturing increased by 13.3%. The added value of the wholesale and retail industry, and accommodation and restaurants rose by 3.6% and 5.7% compared to the last year, respectively. Revenue in restaurants saw a fast increase thanks to the continuously growing consumer demands. The total retail sales of consumer goods in the province stood at 795.21 billion yuan, up by 4.2% year-on-year. Investment in fixed assets grew by 4.8% compared to the last year. Of this total, investment from the central government grew by 26.4%.

The CPI of Liaoning increased by 0.3% compared to the last year, with that of urban areas up by 0.2% and that of rural areas by 0.6%. Revenue in the general public budget of the province reached 229.37 billion yuan, up by 5.7% year-on-year, and expenditure in the general public budget registered 481.56 billion yuan, up by 2.9%. Per capita disposable personal income was 29,998 yuan, up by 4.9% year-on-year. Specifically, the per capita disposable personal income of urban residents was 35,862 yuan, up by 4.6%, and that of rural residents was 17,786 yuan, up by 5.9%.
