On February 11, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held the fourth press conference of the series on the economic performance of Liaoning in 2024 and the key arrangements for 2025, presenting the overall situation, major achievements, highlights, and features of the province’s commerce work in 2024 and outlining its primary plans for 2025.
In 2024, the total retail sales of consumer goods in Liaoning reached 1.07783 trillion yuan, growing by 4% year-on-year, 0.5 percentage points higher than the national average (3.5%), marking the second consecutive year that the province outperformed the national average. The funds secured through investment attraction grew by 14.1% year-on-year, exceeding the annual target. Over 5,000 consumer promotion events were held across the province, with over 400 million yuan of consumption vouchers and subsidies issued, driving a consumption increase of over 15 billion yuan. Efforts were also made to enhance e-commerce efficiency, with the launch of the first policy on the influencer economy nationwide and the pioneering development and recognition of e-commerce live-streaming bases.
The 5th China Liaoning International Investment and Trade Fair was held in Liaoning, bringing together over 4,000 guests from 68 countries and regions. The Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2024 was successfully convened, reaching record highs in scale, number of sessions, and guest attendance. Shenyang was successively approved as the only national-level China Railway Express (Shenyang) Hub in Northeast China and the first TIR Logistics Hub. A total of 892 China Railway Express trains were operated, marking a 14.4% year-on-year increase, ranking first in Northeast China and eighth nationwide.
In 2025, Liaoning will continue its consumer promotion activities, with no fewer than 4,000 events throughout the year. The province will also continue to host independent expositions for Liaoning commodities in Japan, Mongolia, and Russia, and will launch the first Liaoning commodities expositions in Hungary and Saudi Arabia. Moreover, Liaoning will actively promote northward opening-up and work to enhance both the scale and efficiency of China Railway Express operations.
