On May 29, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held the twenty-fifth press conference of the series titled “Making Breakthroughs for Revitalization, and Striving for Decisive Achievements”, presenting the important plans, major tasks, and specific measures conducted by the Anshan Municipal People’s Government.
In the first quarter, Anshan’s regional GDP grew by 5.6%, added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 11.3%, fixed asset investment rose by 6.1%, general public budget revenue grew by 8.6%, and total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 4%.
Since the beginning of this year, Anshan has launched or resumed 603 projects with investments exceeding 50 million yuan. The number of implemented projects, total investment, annual planned investment, and commencement rate have all reached their best levels in five years. The city has conducted over 220 consumption promotion activities and organized 193 cultural, sports, and tourism events. During the May Day holiday, Anshan received 28.2% more tourists and achieved a 25.3% increase in comprehensive tourism revenue, setting new historical records.
Anshan will strengthen resource allocation for projects to facilitate the commencement or resumption of 750 projects exceeding 50 million yuan each, including the Shihu Reservoir and the Houying high-performance magnesium-based alloys comprehensive utilization project. The city will intensify investment attraction efforts, focusing on the “8+1+4” industrial development direction, and deepen industrial chain-based investment attraction, park-based investment attraction, and business-driven investment attraction, targeting over 800 newly signed projects throughout the year.
Anshan will accelerate the development of emerging industries such as new energy, next-generation digital technologies, and energy conservation and environmental protection. The city will vigorously develop resource recycling industries, including scrap steel, with the output value of industrial resource comprehensive utilization growing by 6%. Anshan will expedite the construction of national bases for foreign trade transformation and upgrading in steel, magnesite, and apparel industries, while advancing the full operation of the provincial export commodity exhibition and sales center.
