Fushun’s Q1 Regional GDP Ranks First in Liaoning Province

On May 30, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held the twenty-sixth press conference of the series titled “Making Breakthroughs for Revitalization, and Striving for Decisive Achievements”, presenting the important plans, major tasks, and specific measures conducted by the Fushun Municipal People’s Government.

In the first quarter, the regional GDP of Fushun grew by 7.3% year-on-year, ranking first in the province and achieving the best position in 10 years. Added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 12.1% year-on-year, ranking first provincially. Fixed asset investment rose by 23%, ranking second in the province, while total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 8.7%, ranking third across the province.

In the first quarter, Fushun’s investment in projects exceeding 100 million yuan increased by 31.1%, with private investment and manufacturing investment growing by 48% and 63% respectively. The university-locality talent “two-way exchange” platform has established cooperation with 62 universities, attracting 350 talents. The city has strengthened its private economy by adding 7,000 new business entities, a 4% year-on-year increase ranking third in the province. Fushun has been developing the Northeast Asian international markets including Russia, Japan, and South Korea, while actively fostering foreign trade enterprises such as Fushun Meirui Petrochemical.

Fushun will advance high-standard farmland construction with high quality, aiming for grain output exceeding 1.8 billion jin. The city will accelerate the implementation of 98 technological transformation projects with total investment of 17.26 billion yuan, promoting full-chain digital transformation and upgrading of key industries including fine chemicals, new metallurgical materials, and equipment manufacturing. Fushun will actively explore Northeast Asian markets and strengthen economic and trade cooperation with Russia, Thailand, and other RCEP countries.
