The opening ceremony of the 2026 “Mandarin Excellence Programme·Intensive Study in China” was recently held at Shenyang Normal University, welcoming 57 British teachers and students.

During their stay in Shenyang, the British participants will attend Chinese language classes, experience intangible cultural heritage, explore the city’s vibrant urban culture, and engage in face-to-face exchanges with local Chinese students.

Peter Wilson, the British Ambassador to China, delivered a video address, in which he encouraged the participants to cherish the opportunity to learn in China, improve their Chinese language skills, take the initiative to understand Chinese culture, and make new friends in China.
