Dancers from the Liaoning Song and Dance Ensemble glide across the stage in costumes inspired by five traditional Chinese colors. Taking on the forms of four national-treasure-level artifacts from the Liaoning Provincial Museum: the Golden Buyao, the Yuan-dynasty Blue-and-White Porcelain Octagonal Jar with Pine, Bamboo and Plum Designs, Nymph of the Luo River, and Confucius Passed Away at 72, the performers use the expressive language of classical Chinese dance to bring the timeless beauty of these cultural treasures and the elegance of traditional Chinese colors to life. A highlight from Ancient Colors: National Treasures of Liaoning, a dance-and-poetry drama created by the Liaoning Luyi Culture Group, the performance seamlessly blends traditional Chinese colors, the distinctive features of cultural relics, and the aesthetics of classical Chinese dance. Through dynamic visual storytelling, it breathes new life into the colors and artistic beauty of these national treasures. The creative team will travel to Beijing in September to take part in the National Ethnic Minority Art Festival.
