After victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, President Wang Bin led the school’s teachers and students to Northeast China, where they settled in Xingshan and resumed teaching. Guided by the principle “Everything for victory in the War of Liberation,” the school reformed its teaching, adjusted its program structure and duration, and placed greater emphasis on surgery for battlefield injuries. It also established several branch schools, which later developed into local medical colleges. During the campaigns in Northeast China, teachers and students readily donated blood and worked tirelessly to treat large numbers of wounded soldiers. Some fell ill from overwork and died. In just over two years at Xingshan, the school graduated more than 2,000 students across 19 classes. Its graduates served in medical units at every level of the People’s Liberation Army and made important contributions to victory in the War of Liberation.
